I'm entirely in love with this painting! The reference photo is beautiful, but you managed to put so much more emotion into the image. Really, I just keep returning to it to have another look. I hope you can make it a print, so I can put it up my wall.
I absolutely love it. To me it seems as if the girl lost something or someone dear and she can't bear to take in the world at that very moment, so she turns to the wall, something real, something solid, something she can touch without having to think much about anything at all except it's sturdiness and protection.
love your manipulations of ink!! any advice for how i can improve that for me? i'm a pencil junky and ink scares me a little cz i find it too powerful, especially when compared to my dear pencil, or aquarelle xD
What I love most about your work, is its subtlety. You say that art doesnt have to be pretty or mean something to someone but to everyone. I would agree but add that it doesnt have to shout that its supposed to mean something to everyone, and your work whispers, in an alluring way. Something you cant help but be touched by, much as everyone else, only in a genuine way, the way that is a soft finger and not a set of grasping hands.
