More fanart! What else is Deviantart good for? Just kidding. But seriously.

Here's some Ravenclaw hotness. Miss Cho Chang. I remember reading the fourth book thinking, alright! This Cho person sounds awesome! And then she just... failed. Oh well. This was a fun quickie. Enjoy!

I love how confident Cho looks here, but I disagree with many of the comments that state how she "failed". To clear things up, I don't really like Cho Chang, but I understand that she is a realistic character because she did have a huge trauma in her life. Of course she is not the only character in HP that has to deal with trauma but, in real life as well, people are affected by things differently. I'm sure it didn't help her that she was at least mildly attracted to Harry, only to have him carry her boyfriend's dead body out of a maze so, as annoying as her many emotional moments were, they weren't irrational.

She looks so confident here--the way the character should have been in the books. IMO, aside from Luna JKR was a total fail with most of the female characters.

I don't entirely agree with that statement. I find that there were many strong female characters such as Hermione, Ginny, Minerva McGonagall, Molly Weasley, Nymphadora Tonks, and like you said, Luna. I'm not a fan of Cho Chang in the book and the movie, but not all women in real life are tough or independent. I also understand how she was a mess of tears so often, considering her boyfriend's corpse was carried out of the maze by Harry, which must have made her infatuation with Harry confusing. Although I don't particularly like Cho, I don't think that JKR failed with her because it's understandable for some people to react to such trauma like she did.

I see your point. I agree that not all women are tough or independent. When I said that JKR was a fail with most of the female characters, I meant that aside from Luna, Hermione and McGonagall the others are rather undeveloped. That's just my opinion. As for Cho, I completely understand why she acted as she did. A lot of people hate her because they think she was a crying mess, when in fact her boyfriend had just been murdered and she just wasn't ready to be with anyone else. Especially Harry, who was too immature to understand and had to have Hermione explain it to him.

My comment was more a complement to the artist for drawing a happy, confident Cho instead of the weepy one which so many fanarts depict.

Yah, high school dating is bad enough. Dating at the mortal danger school of magic is worse. Maybe she got better after the war? Who knows?

Bear in mind she was grieving Cedric when Harry dated her. That's human. Very nice picture though

Cho Chang was so COOL! And INTELLIGENT! Why wasn't Hermione in Ravenclaw? It would've been awesome!

Except she couldn't go a second without thinking of Cedric and bawling.
