Help Himmapaan!

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 21, 2012, 7:17 AM

Guys, guys, I need your help!

Niroot Puttapipat is from Thailand, and has been working as an illustrator in England for several years. He's the modern incarnation of Arthur Rackham, and has been a huge influence to my own work for the last few years.

The few times I've spoken to him he's been incredibly courteous and helpful to me with my own work. Unfortunately, Niroot is in dire straits right now! He, like many of my fellow artists, is struggling to get by. It's gotten to the point that he has next to nothing to live on, and it breaks my heart. I remember being in that position myself, and people pretty much slithered out of the woodwork to help me out. It was awesome, and if you can help him out now, I'd be so grateful!

You can help him by buying his books, prints, mugs, magnets, and assorted ephemera here on DA, or from the Folio Society, or from Red Bubble.

He's also illustrated "The Red Fairy Book" which is gorgeous, but out of stock. You can still order it for October here: [link]

Thanks so much! Any support is appreciated, even if it's small <3

Are there any donation buttons anywhere for him? I have been on the receiving side with help for my son, I would love to donate something to him, even the small amounts help ;)

wow, that's sad. Himmapaan is also one of my favorite DA artists, maybe my favorite drawer, I will really support him since I do know a piece of his work is a real gem to have!
Hope he gets by soon, his work really needs to be more known, he's really underrated.

Being artist myself I know it`s not easy! You need to have a breadjob beside the pencil.
But I thought considering his (and of course yours.) wonderful artwork and popularity thought you earned enough money to live 100% on your work.

I just got a print of my favorite work by him. I only hope that DA does not take much of the price I paid! I wish I could buy something bigger right now but it's hard with the shipping costs all the way to Mexico...

And I promise I wasn't trolling with this one :XD: Really think it could be helpful in his case.

Very kind of you to take his situation at heart. None ever became poor by giving.

I really admire his work and I'm very sorry to hear he is in such trouble.

I'll be happy to order a mug with The Magic Flute. :)

You weren't kidding about the modern reincarnation of Rackham. His work is astounding. I wish I wasn't a starving artist as well so I could help out too...but thank you for getting the word out!
